I bought a new camper today!!
Just signed the papers on a used Wildcat 32QBBS at Crowder RV today. Butch, the kids and I were going, but my sister came in from Ohio, so her and hubby went along with us. We LOVE the layout on this one, but had planned to purchase a new one, saw this one and had to have it.....they made us a deal we couldn't refuse.
It has two bedrooms, with the bunk room up front - 3 bunks and a couch that makes a bed with lots of room. The queen bed master is in the back. Living, dining and kitchen are pretty much the same layout as our old one.
We will be picking it up on the 25th, hopefully, must first have the hitch installed before we can pull it back home. We sure do hope we can get it up on our hill and around all the bends that we have to take it, but everyone assures me that it will be easier with this one than with our TT.
The purchaser or our old TT will be coming to Norton next weekend to get it and exchange money, etc. As long as everything goes well with that, then we are set - our first camping trip is set for March 23, but we will probably go to Natural Tunnel first to make sure everything is ready to go.
I'm excited!!!

If anyone will get their money's worth out of a camper, it is the Hutchinson family!
Re: I bought a new camper today!!
Yes, we definitely do get our money's worth out of ours......and we expect you to spend a little bit of that money that you are making now to camp with us this year!!!
Re: I bought a new camper today!!
Congratulations. That's the layout we had in our Cruiser and you will like it. I dropped our camper at Crowders on the 12th for some minor warranty work. Who did you deal with? Let me know when you are picking it up and I'll try to pick mine up at the same time so I can see you guys. I'm off the next two weekends. If you haven't done it already, A-1 hitch just off the Stone Drive exit on 26 put a hitch in one of my trucks and they were very reasonable and did good work.

Quick google gave me this floor plan. Is it this one?
We were in something similar at the rv show and I liked having the kids stuff up in the 'tree house'.

Well, my Rockwood Signature UltraLite is now in our history. It should be in Columbus OH by now. We go have the hitch installed tomorrow am and pick up our Wildcat in the morning. The girls want to camp in it tomorrow night, but I think I can hold them off until the weekend.

Re: I bought a new camper today!!
We got it home after many stops and starts along the way. THEN WE COULDN'T get it to uncouple! Called the nephew and he came and assisted. The pin was not disengaging. Finally got it plugged in and we ate dinner in there, which pacified the girls. They wanted to stay in there TONIGHT! With the weather being as bad as it's supposed to be, I figure it will be a few days before we can overnight.

Re: I bought a new camper today!!
I figured there might be a BIG difference since the weight was different, but it did great. Even coming up the hill (most would call it a mountain) to our house was not too bad. It's still the same length, but it sure is higher. Really excited to take it out for a test run.

He does most of the driving while towing now. Since all of my vertigo issues, I'm just not as sure of my driving as I used to be. I haven't pulled this one yet, but I am sure that sometime this summer, I will have a go at it.

I'm sure you can do it Donna. I like the way a 5th wheel handles better than a bumper tow.merrykalia wrote:are you gonna let Butch drive any?
