Time Out for my tires?

Okay, my tires, all four of them, look fine. Plenty of tread, sidewalls are not all cracked up. Still, they were manufactured in 2009. Everything I read says to replace before they are 10-years old, or sooner. I'm planning a 1,000 mile round trip, and the age of the tires makes me uneasy. Then again, buying tires to replace perfectly good ones also makes me uneasy.

I'm leaning toward going ahead and replacing them, as replacing them by the side of the highway does not sound like any fun at all. That method would likely be even more expensive.

It seems that there are things that I can't fix with duct tape. Any advice from the experts on here?
